Behind the Photograph | Rockies

Sometimes, the stars align and the light and image just fall in your lap.  That is what happened in this photograph.  I was driving and there it was –a vista overlooking the beautiful Rocky Mountains at Independence Pass.  It was a simple.  I set up the composition metered and it rendered a beautiful photograph.  Making a great image is not always this simplistic but sometimes it is.

I metered Zone III for the the base of the trees.
