A little over a week ago, my wife and I went to Colorado on a vacation/roadtrip. Even though I was born in Denver and I have lots of family in Colorado, most of the spots we visited were for the first time. I am sure you have seen some of the photos over these last few days. We visited Rocky Mountain National Park, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park, and Great Sand Dunes National Park as well as the famous Maroon Bells. A couple of our locations were absolute standouts.
| Really, the dunes and the canyon needed 7 days each to explore all to themselves. |
Hopefully someday I will get back to each of those and spend significantly more time at each. The dunes and the canyon were absolute playgrounds for large format film photography. Still I exposed probably a good 30 sheets of 4×5 film over the course of our 9 days in Colorado. Over the course of the next few posts, I am going to do a series of thoughts that came from that trip .
